Triton Brewing

Upland's Midwest Sour Wild Funk Fest

Upland Brewing organized the second annual Sour Wild Funk Fest, the Midwest’s premier wild ale festival, on Saturday, May 11, at Developer Town in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis. Approximately twenty breweries were represented including many Hoosier breweries, brewers from Ohio, from Illinois, from Michigan and some national powerhouses like New Belgium and Sam Adams. This years attenance was reported to be up substantially from last year but the crowd never felt like a 'throng.' Here's our take from the two of us who attended:

Brew Bracket 5 - AMBERgeddon

Since discovering the existence of Brew Bracket last year on my 30th birthday, I have loved coming and participating in this completely unique event, that not only features 16 local breweries, makes you the judge, but helps out with a local charity as well.

On December 8th, Brew Bracket came back again to the Indiana State Fairgrounds with a Amber Ale showdown, called AMBERgeddon. The past winning Brew Bracket contenders were all there along with general favorites and newbies to find out who was the best of the best when it comes to amber ales.

This Saturday the Melody Inn in Indianapolis combines two things I tend to enjoy - Triton beer and punk rock. Triton will be debuting their line of bottled beer along with some specialty beers starting at 9:00. Music starts at 10:30 and features the psychobilly romps of Detroit’s Koffin Kats. The sitter is lined up and I’m ready to roll!

Another Winterfest Post - February 2

Another Winterfest has come and gone and by all that I observed it was another huge success.  Beer, beer and more beer in all directions.  People, people and more people in all directions.  My focus this year was making my way through the throngs of people to the newer breweries in attendance whose beers I had not already had an opportunity to sample before this event.  I sampled beers from:  Cutters, Das Big Dawg Brewhaus, Four Horsemen Brewing Co., Against the Grain Brewery, Bulldog Brewing Co., Triton Brewing Co., Three Pints Brewing, Finch's Beer Co., Black Swan Brewpub, and Fountain Squar
